i have a dear family member who has dealt with severe anxiety. i have learned anxiety is when the body and brain interpret everything as a threat and have no outlet or off button to see that things are not a threat. mental rigidity is hard to deal with, for those with it and those interacting with them.

i have a dear family member who dealt with the atrocities of life with numbing agents, drugs. people become overwhelmed with the inhumanity, the pain, and numb it all. unfortunately this also numbs the good experiences. people who use  numbing agents don't realize the effect it takes on those around them, the sadness, the confusion, the hopelessness we also feel.

i have a dear family member who battles depression. depression is a lurking hunger,  it's nagging whisper, begging to be fed. but there is always the bright glimmer under it, cracking through, and breaking free.

i have dear family members swamped with disillusion.  its hard to be a sensitive person in this harsh world when you absorb others pain. how can we continue to be compassionate and protect our own hearts.
